From May 2016 to October 2016 I produced 'Mary V'-a new full-length play by Rebekah Carrow inspired by Shakespeare's HENRY V and featuring a cast of 25. The play's premiere run attracted an audience of over 300 ticket buyers and received nods from Broadway World, Playbill & The New York Times.
Producing 'Mary V' was an interesting experience, because on stage the 'Mary V' cast of 25 actors of whom half were men and half were women faced bloody conflict, and off stage we encouraged an environment of collaboration and respect between all members of the international production team, that embraced the UN's 'HeforShe Campaign'.This production had a diverse cast and production team as an attempt to use Cultural Diplomacy to encourage men and women from different countries to create art and culture together in order to overcome prejudice and racism by understanding that communities around the world are facing a lot of the time similar challenges such as violence. I have brought people to work on this project who are from Egypt, Brazil, Israel, Lebanon, Kenya, Turkey, the US and we even have an Iranian on our team, who is great friends with our Brazilian director.  As an Israeli-American it is not obvious that I had the chance to work with an Iranian. Furthermore, I feel fortunate to live in New York, because Israel and Iran have no diplomatic relations. It is important and exciting to expereince such a cultural exchange.
