Lara Vosburgh is an American-Israeli theatre/film/television actress and model, and graduate of the Atlantic Acting School. Vosburgh moved to New York after receiving a full merit based scholarship to attend the Atlantic Acting School Evening Conservatory. Lara's family originates from the US, Israel, Holland, Romania, Scotland, Germany and Mexico. Although, Lara was born in Manhattan, she spent her childhood going back and forth between New York, San-Francisco and Tel-Aviv.

Lara is fluent in English, Hebrew and in Arabic (including reading and writing). Her credits include: Lead in IFC's feature film 'Inner Demons' (currently on AMAZON), a series regular on a 45 episode Israeli Drama and a recurring role in an Israeli sitcom and several short films and commercials, Syrian-Kurdish refugee (role in Arabic) in the play 'Undrown'd Seeking Assylum' in the Connelly theatre in NYC ( in this play she also played a British journalist and an American Civil Rights protester), played the male role of the alcoholic choir leader: Mr.Stimson in 'Our Town', Ann Deever in 'All My Sons' in NYC, Lead in Elaine May's dark comedy: 'Hotline' in Tel-Aviv. In addition, Lara has given linguistic and dramaturgical advice on the Arabic and various aspects of Middle Eastern culture on the the script of 'Undrown'd Seeking Assylum' in which she played a Syrian-Kurdish refugee In addition, she writes and appears in comedic skits, writes her own rap music, volunteers with youth at risk and is an advocate of cultural diplomacy. In the summer of 2016 Lara produced the play 'Mary V' in the Off-Broadway playhouse Theater for the New City. 'Mary V'-a new full-length play inspired by Shakespeare's HENRY V and featuring a cast of 25. The play's premiere run attracted an audience of over 400 ticket buyers and received nods from Broadway World, Playbill & The New York Times.

Lara is starring in the lead role of Carson in 'Inner Demons', an IFC feature film directed by Seth Grossman. The film premièred at the 2014 LA Film Festival. Lara's performance received rave reviews for mastering the complex and demanding role of a sixteen-year old girl, a former A-student, who is fighting addiction. Lara's breadth and skills are showcased in her superb portrayal of Carson's destructive and demonic possession pointing to an inquiry into the truth about her - a story straddling the disturbing intersection between insanity, addiction and true possession. 'Inner Demons' was released on Amazon and NETFLIX and became the 2nd most streamed film during its first week on the platform.

 

Lara will graduate in May 2024 with a Graduate degree in Screenwriting from Brooklyn College's Feirestin 

Graduate School of Cinema. Lara studied Creative Writing during her undergraduate degree at Yeshiva

University. Lara is also pursuing a Masters in Judaism from Yeshiva University's Revel Graduate School. 

Lara's short films have participated in film festivals around the world. Lara has worked in research and in 

development in production companies such as Film Nation in NY, 87 North in LA and the 'Industry' (Hatasiya) in Tel Aviv.  Lara has also worked in casting (music videos & plays) and marketing for the Israeli Multiple Sclerosis Society. 

In 2010, Lara began taking acting classes with noted Israeli Oscar wining director and acting instructor Ram Nehari and after only three months of acting training landed a comedic recurring role on the second season of the Israeli multi-camera sitcom 'Kan Garim Bek'ef' ("Happily Residing Here"). Lara played Alex, an overbearing, over the top hormonal, rude teenage girl.

Lara became a recognized star on Israeli streets and in Israeli schools, when she was cast as a regular in the third season of the forty-five chapter Israeli drama Hazuya, directed by Oded Lotan. The drama was televised in many countries worldwide.

Lara has a strong comedic presence and performed as the lead in Elaine May's dark comedy Hotline which hit the Tel Aviv stages in July-August of 2014; she played a therapist working a suicide hotline trying to save lives. Lara is also talented in comedy improvisation and was part of the small yet vibrant Musical Improv and Comedy- Improv community in Israel and

Lara has significant experience in the dance and singing world; she dances hip hop, classical and modern ballet, flamenco, bollywood, belly dancing and tap dance. Lara preformed in the prestigious Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater in Tel Aviv and has recorded a solo song (ballad) as part of her role on the Israeli TV series 'HAZUYA'. Lara, who writes and composes her own rap, has recorded her first rap at the Cutting Room Recording Studio in NYC in August 2015.
